# Refunded Payment Our Refunded Payment events make it possible to automatically trigger actions in your CRM, LMS, or other connected apps when you process a refund in Spiffy. There are two different types of refunded payment events: - [Account-Level Automation Events](#accountlevel-automation-events) - [Product & Subscription-Level Automation Events](#product-amp-subscriptionlevel-automation-events) **NOTE:** _Refunded_ _Payment_ automation is best used to trigger internal actions—like logging a refund or notifying your team. If you need to revoke access, use [Subscription Canceled](https://university.spiffy.co/automation/billing-automation/subscription-canceled.md) automation or [Payment Failed](https://university.spiffy.co/automation/billing-automation/payment-failed.md) automation. # Account-Level Automation Events ## Payment Refunded _(All Payments)_ This account-level event will trigger based on any refunded payment and will trigger the same action for all refunded payments. You can find this event under your [account-level billing automation](https://app.spiffy.co/settings/automation) settings. **Need to trigger different actions when refunding Payment Plans vs. Subscriptions?** Skip the **_Payment_ _Refunded (All Payments)_** event, and instead use both account-level events for **_Payment Plan Payment Refunded_** and **_Subscription Payment Refunded_** to trigger different events for Payment Plans vs Subscriptions. ## Payment Plan Payment Refunded This account-level event will trigger based on any refunded payment on Payment Plans only. You can find this event under your [account-level billing automation](https://app.spiffy.co/settings/automation) settings. **Important:** If you setup actions for both account-level events: _**Payment Refunded (All Payments)** and **Payment Plan Payment Refunded**,_ both will run when a payment plan payment is refunded. ## Subscription Payment Refunded This account-level event will trigger based on any refunded payment on Subscriptions only, and will trigger for ALL subscription products. This event is not unique to individual subscription products or plans, the same event will run for all refunded subscription payments across all subscription products.
