Deactivate a Checkout
Follow these steps to manually deactivate a checkout:
- From the Checkout list, hover over the checkout you want to deactivate and click the settings icon (…) on the far right
- Select Expiration/Disable
- Select the Checkout Status toggle to make the checkout Active or Inactive
- Select the Redirect toggle to enter a redirect URL for after the checkout expires (optional but recommended)

NOTE: Deactivating a checkout will only turn off customer-facing access. No new orders can be placed. You will still have access to edit, duplicate, and view stats. You can also reactivate inactive checkouts to use again in the future.

Existing subscriptions and payment plans:
When a checkout is expired or deactivated, this will NOT affect any customers on existing subscriptions or payment plans created from that checkout. Payments will continue as scheduled, or until cancelled.
Expire a Checkout based on Date/Time
Set a specific date/time for your checkout to expire.
- From the Checkout list, hover over the checkout you want to expire and click the settings icon (…) on the far right
- Select Expiration/Disable
- Select the toggle for Expiration Date and select the day/time that you want the checkout to expire
- Select the Redirect toggle to enter a redirect URL for after the checkout expires (optional but recommended)
- Click Save
Customers who already have the checkout page open at time of expiration, will have a 15min grace period to complete their purchase before they are redirected.
Expire a Checkout based on Order Limit
Set the checkout to expire after a set number of orders has been placed.
- From the Checkout list, hover over the checkout you want to expire and click the settings icon (…) on the far right
- Select Expiration/Disable
- Select the toggle for Order Limit and enter the desired number of orders
- Select the Redirect toggle to enter a redirect URL. When the checkout expires, people will be redirected to this URL. (optional but recommended)
- Click Save
Tip: You can edit the order quantity limit by resetting the count to zero or by increasing the total number of the order limit.
For all scenarios above, if no redirect URL is used, the link to the checkout will result in a ‘Page not Found’ at expiration/deactivation.
Urgency Tag for Expiring Checkouts
When your Checkout has an expiration applied, Spiffy will automatically show urgency on your checkout to boost conversions. The urgency tag will either show a countdown timer, or how many units remain.
Date & Time Expiration will add a countdown timer tag on your checkout to display urgency.
Order Limit Expiration will add a # of units remaining tag on your checkout to display urgency.
The Urgency Tag is shown on the Checkout automatically when certain parameters are met and works the same way as the Discount Code parameters.
NOTE: If a Checkout has an expiration set and is also using a Discount Code that is set to expirate too, the Urgency Tag will show whichever expiration parameter is most urgent.
Remove Urgency Tag on Expiring Checkout
If you want to automatically expire a checkout and do NOT want an urgency tag to show, you can deactivate the urgency tag in the checkout editor Order Summary Settings in the Order Details section.
- Edit a Checkout
- Edit Order Summary. Hover over the Order Summary and click to open settings
- Click on the Offer Details tab at the top
- Toggle OFF the setting for Enable Urgency Tag
